Millions of Hindus have celebrated Dussehra, the culmination of the
nine-day festival of Navaratri. Dussehra marks the triumph of good
over evil. Effigies are burnt and statues cast adrift in rivers around
the country, inviting the 'Mother Goddess' to reinvigorate the soil's
fertility
